The Bathroom Girl
Some find peace in prayer.
Some find theirs behind a locked door.
Fear engulfs my sanity.
Tears, a constant omen I try to release.
Anxiety claws for a new place in my heart.
Sadness—my companion in solitude.
I want to rid myself of this darkness,
the one that barges in uninvited,
every moment, every breath.
But I found a home.
A place where loneliness loosens its grip,
where I can breathe without flinching,
where my mind is clear,
and my sanity, intact.
The bathroom.
My sacred space—my throne room.
No evil dares knock.
What they see as dirt, I see as sanctuary.
Here, I enjoy my own company.
No judgment. No noise.
My solemnity lives here.
My thoughts find quiet.
It is the place I choose,
the place I accept myself.
I am the bathroom girl.
